Our program
structure & services

Hapū Ora has structured our services into four whare, Te Whare Aromatawai, Te Whare Rauora, Te Whare Whāngai & Te Whare Whānau.
Te Whare Aromatawai
Te Whare Aromatawai is used to establish the rangatahi into the tikanga of Hapū Ora focused on connecting them to the awhi, manaaki and whanangatanga shared by the kaitiaki. We ensure that the information from AAMP is completed in order to establish quality intervention strategies focused the whānau arriving to reconnect.
The mahi in this phase allows kaitiaki to grow a deeper understanding of the needs of the rangatahi along with how to connect them to the other rangatahi who reside in Te Whare Rauora.
Te Whare Rauora
Te Whare Rauora symbolsies the opportunity for healing and rescuing to occur. Connections to whakapapa and the opportunities to restore the disconnected mana and whānau relationships are actively pursued through activities and educational pursuits that will establish mana ahua ake. Being part of the Hapū Ora way is to be part of a whānau an so the rangatahi are introduced to the whānau practice of our kaitiaki. The focus is for rangatahi to develop skills to become global citizens contributing locally and globally. Overall te whare rauora is an opportunity for rangatahi to have a new reality come into view that is aspirational that will provide the foundation for transition to independence.
Te Whare Whāngai
Te Whare Whāngai provides the opportunity to connect with matua whāngai who are willing to share their aroha for rangatahi. Matua whāngai provide the awhi, and manaaki for rangatahi in transition to independence.
Matua whāngai are a safe pair of hands to guide rangatahi to grow in their mana in anticipation of whānau arriving to reconnect. Matua whāngai are linked to a kahui whānau – a small cluster of matua whāngai working together to tautoko each other in the manaaki of rangatahi. As peers they assist each other to build resilience along with the rangatahi.
Te Whare Whānau
Te Whare Whānau is established to provide opportunities to participate in the prevention of the rangatahi being removed from their whānau when appropriate. Hapū Ora have a number of programmes and approaches to assist the whānau in developing mana whānau to allow the connections to be strengthened around the rangatahi. Where the rangatahi is removed because of safety reasons the Hapū Ora can continue to work with the whānau directly or link them to community services that can assist in building upon the strengths of the whānau. Other services include post placement support, respite care and inhouse services depending on needs with the outcome to reduce stress, anxiety, whakama and encourage the potential to bloom mana whānau. The structure of our mahi is to provide a quality whānau experience to re-establish mana whānau for the rangatahi.
